100 Year Storm
This project on the spire on Fifth Ave. downtown proved to be one of the more challenging projects in years. The 4’ diameter 160’ tall steel structure had to be allowed to sway with high winds 2’ in any direction. The scaffold itself also had to be allowed to sway due to the top 86’ being unanchored. The base was widened and each of the 28 legs anchored and tied down to the building structure. Workers were able to efficiently perform top down and complete the project in 6 weeks. Cheers to our guys performing flawlessly on a very technical build.
